The family welcoming her has taught us loads about service, stretching oneself, sacrifice, and Christ-like love. They are relatives of Jubilee and have committed to informally adopt her into their immediate family. The kicker here is that they have three children themselves-one of which is a newborn, both work full time jobs, AND ALSO just took in Jubilee's sister 4 months ago who was in a difficult living situation and struggling with malnutrition. She has thrived in their care and is a joyous little one. Their cups overflows! We found a family this summer in the US that's helping support Jubilee and another family here at KICS is providing for her as well.
Jubilee was also fostered by some good friends of ours while we were on furlough and when we returned because I couldn't care for her. She's been loved and adored by many folks since her difficult beginning without a mama.
Praise God~ that he has provided a long-term, loving Rwandan family!
Here are some photos of the big reintegration day:
I (Wendy) couldn't join due to the terrain and my broken hip
'Playing' with her cousin
Jubilee meeting her big sister
She's so stinkin adorabe
I think they'll become fast friends
Both babies were hungry at the same time, so Mama breastfed while Emmanuel helped JuJu with her bottle
Corralling the curious neighborhood kids
That smile melts me
One child is missing here, the oldest (who was guarding our car)
Thank you God for this beautiful sunset on a difficult yet exciting day
Please pray for the transition for all involved: Jubilee, her new family, those of us that fostered her and love and miss her dearly.
