Your questions...answered!

DO YOU LIVE IN A HUT?

ARE THERE LIKE WILD ANIMALS EVERYWHERE?

WHAT DO YOU EAT?

When Wendy was in the US for a couple of weeks last December to work, she received a lot of the same questions.  We'll be addressing them in the next few blog posts.

First off:  What do you eat?

We go out to eat as a family about once every other month, so we eat at home pretty much every night.  We have WAY more choices here in terms of foreign products than when we lived in China.

We longed for American food our first year outside of the US but year 2 & 3 were easier.  This year (year 4) has been the easiest yet.  Don't get me wrong we greatly miss specific restaurants and food but it's not something we dwell on anymore.  Here are some of our favorite foods when we return to the US

Aiden-unlimited fruits especially strawberries, blueberries, grapes, raspberries
Wendy-Chick-fil-a, Sonic cherry limeade
Brinson-Red Barron pizza, Taco Bell, Sonic chili cheese dog
Eric-Chipotle chicken salad, El Chapperal restaurant (in San Antonio), grapes, almonds
Sheldon-Taco Bell, maple & brown sugar oatmeal
Pierce-maple & brown sugar oatmeal

Here are some photos of our recent meals:

Tuna salad, bread, chips

Lentil/cauliflower soup stuff & rice

Chicken Noodle Soup & cornbread

Indian dish

Peanut Matoke-local food (looks like bananas but tastes like potato)

Egg/Tomato with Rice (Chinese dish)

Chicken enchiladas (a rare treat)

Homemade peanut butter and homemade hummus

Pancakes

Salad with eggs and chick-a-peas

Pasta with veggies and parmesan cheese

Matoke again
